Local seafood only restaurant with an excellent wine list. Tucked away down a small side street and a world away from the many tourist traps
The staff are helpful and very knowledgeable about the food and the wine list. Use their expertise
So good I went twice.
We had such an exquisite dining experience at Corte Sconta. We had a pretty high-end list of restaurants that were recommended and we enjoyed all of them, but the 4 of us all agreed that this was our favorite during our stay in Venice. My step mom
and Dad went here for her 50th bday (25 years ago) and we were delighted that it was still as great as they remembered. Grazie Mille for a treating us to the tastes of Venezia.
Best squid ink pasta I’ve ever had! Two of us also tried their scallop asparagus tagliolini and it was delicious. Reservation is highly recommended although we (party of 2) were able to score a table when it was just opened for lunch.
Definitely one of the best meals that we had in Venice. I had the spaghetti vongole which is very tasty and the dish is loaded with a generous portion of clams. The grilled squid was excellent.
As they say “Not great not terrible”. The general rule that tasting menu can be ordered just for the whole table is, well, annoying. Staff is behaving snobbish, even though the place itself doesn’t present the level which would justify this behaviour. Food was correct and that’s it, just OK. To be fair - I’ve chosen magnificent wine and there is also very decent selection of cheese - but well, the only things I had actually great are these not produced by them. To sum up, they didn’t ruin up the evening, they were more like boring movie during which you can take part in far more interesting conversations, but at least you have popcorn which the cinema provides.
Went there without reservation and was slightly discouraged when there were no empty tables in the garden. Thank God we decided to sit inside, because this was one of our best meals in Venice. A new dish - Carpaccio with passion fruit sauce and red pepper was recommended to us by the waiter. If you find it, try it without second thought!! Overall, excellent service and high-quality food at very reasonable prices.
Came on the recommendation of a friend and it was a great meal!
Our server Igor was amazing - helpful with the menu, selected perfect wines for our meal & very attentive.
The stars of the meal was the classic spaghetti vongole & goat blue cheese dessert (my first blue goat's cheese!). That dessert was so interesting and delicious - like a cheesecake meets custard with a crumble bottom. Very memorable. The vongole was perfectly cooked with a bit of herbs.
We also had the fish of the day (sea bream filet) which came with delicious veggies and tuna venetian style (with onions). These were both also cooked very well.
Many patrons were local Venetians which I liked. Ambience was very simple. Would definitely come back.
We had a decent but not great dinner. The outdoor patio was lovely and the staff was friendly. The food was beautifully served but each dish was surprisingly bland tasting. We had other meals in Venice that were much better tasting.
